Did I mention that the speed at which things are developing currently is truly breathtaking? Until a few days ago, I was so enthusiastic about the possibilities offered by ChatGPT(3) that I published an entire microblog series on LinkedIn(https://bit.ly/Top5_ChatGPT).
That was at the beginning of this month. And when I read that today, I think it’s so last century (or month in this case…)!
What has happened in these past few days? ChatGPT4 has been released – at 20$/month no longer free to test but ChatGPT3 (still free to test) is in my opinion not as inspired, humorous or fast as it was in the beginning. Microsoft has announced “Copilot” and launched new Bing.
Of course, I had to test “New Bing” straight away and I think it’s better than ChatGPT3 and Google combined. Because it works as I was used to from ChatGPT3 in the beginning and combines it with classic search engine behavior as I was used to from Google. But 1+1=2 does not apply here, because the combination of the chatbot with the search engine delivers so much more than the two tools individually:
- I can chat in an inspired and creative way again.
- There are directly clickable references (URLs) included in the answer.
- And the topicality of the answers extends not only to 2021, but to today.
I already use New Bing – with all the disadvantages and downsides that I am well aware of. But I believe that you can only talk about something that you have dealt with. And that’s what I’m currently doing. How about you?
